Board Of Directors

The JMP Foundation consists of these volunteer board members. Each member is dedicated to upholding John Michael's legacy as a generous and caring Christian, as well as promoting awareness of the early signs of esophageal cancer.

  • Michelle Jenkins

Michelle is John Michael’s sister. She provides a decade of marketing and event planning experience that extends the foundation’s messaging of esophageal cancer awareness to the local and digital community. She plans and executes the details for the annual memorial golf tournament and awareness events. She is also responsible for all social media development  and publication. Her desire is to reach and educate as many people as possible through her efforts.

  • Shaun O'Neil

Shaun brings a wealth of experience to the foundation from his role as President and Chief Operating Officer at Lucid Diagnostics. He has implemented the launch of EsoGuard, the first  and only, commercial early cancer detection tool that helps identify and prevent esophageal cancer deaths. Shaun’s drive for cancer detection tools is the result of losing his Uncle Mike to esophageal cancer resulting from his service as a firefighter.

  • Susan Harvey, MD

Dr. Harvey’s distinguished background of 34 years in pathology makes her a valuable asset to the foundation. Her expertise is immeasurable in directing messaging that educates young adults about esophageal cancer symptoms and that heartburn can cause cancer even at their age. As the mother of one of John Michael’s friends, she watched him grow up. She is also the pathologist that diagnosed him at only 25 years old with stage IV adenocarcinoma esophageal cancer.

  • Bob Glick

Bob's success as an entrepreneur and business owner brings invaluable insight and oversight to the foundation. His creativity and leadership is responsible for the establishment of the annual JMP Memorial Golf Tournament. Bob and his family have been life long family friends and thought this would be wonderful  way to remember John Michael by reuniting his friends yearly.

  • Jeff Pierce

Jeff, father of John Michael, is a successful business owner and offers managerial focus and direction. His unending passion is to fulfill the foundation's mission of spreading awareness of esophageal cancer symptoms and save young lives. Heartburn is one of the first noticeable signs and students have to be educated to take this seriously if they are experiencing these early warnings. "Our goal is to save thousands of lives from this deadly disease, however If we save just one, we will consider our efforts extremely successful.”
