 Daniel Peterman

The Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Peterman to its Board of Directors: His expertise and leadership will be instrumental in advancing the Foundation's mission to raise awareness of the early signs and symptoms of esophageal cancer among young adults.

The John Michael Pierce Foundation is committed to tackling the increasing incidence of esophageal cancer in young adults. This often-overlooked disease frequently goes undetected until it reaches an advanced stage, thereby limiting the effectiveness of treatment. By educating young adults and their families about its early signs and symptoms, the Foundation aims to enhance early detection and improve treatment outcomes.

Daniel earned a double major in Marketing and Management and graduated with honors from the University of Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kendal, and their son, Daniel III, cooking 5-course meals, and being outdoors.

Daniel previously served on the Young Leaders Board with Big Brothers Big Sisters and as an Ambassador for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Daniel was chosen as one of Nashville's Top 30 under 30 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honorees.

Daniel joined SageSpring Wealth Partners, formerly Southwestern Investment Group, in 2018, after serving as a financial advisor for over three years at a national financial firm. Daniel currently serves as a Partner and Senior Executive Vice-President at SageSpring. In 2025, Daniel was ranked #1 in the State of Tennessee for the Forbes Best-In-State Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors.

“No one could match the energy John Michael brought to a room. He had a beautiful outlook on life and it’s so important we carry on his legacy, while also creating awareness that can save lives. I never saw him without a smile on his face." said Daniel.

"I’m so grateful to be collaborating with fellow board members to make people aware of the early signs and symptoms and helping prevent this deadly disease.”

"We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Peterman to our Board of Directors," said Michelle Jenkins, Communications Director, of the John Michael Pierce Foundation. "His experience and passion for advancing cancer awareness will be invaluable as we continue to fight for early detection of esophageal cancer in young adults."

The John Michael Pierce Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to educate and empower young adults about this critical health issue. With the addition of Mr. Peterman to the board, the Foundation is poised to expand its reach and impact more lives through awareness campaigns and educational programs.
